The Face Behind Gill's Creative Cakes: Meet Gill Goddon

Welcome to my delightful world of baking! I'm Gill Goddon, and from my cozy kitchen in Bradford on Avon, I bake, create, cook, experiment, and, most importantly, enjoy every delicious bite. Food has been a lifelong passion – though, if I’m truly honest, it’s a passion for eating that drives me! I believe every meal should be a joyful experience, and friends often turn to me for recipe and restaurant recommendations, trusting my taste buds implicitly.

My culinary journey began watching my mum and nana in the kitchen, and blossomed further with inspiring teachers at school. This led me to a BSc (Hons) in Home Economics at Cardiff University, and then to an incredible 15 years in product development at Nestlé. Imagine a job where you get paid to research, discuss, and eat food with fellow enthusiasts! One of my proudest achievements there was developing a Tiramisu that was made in the UK and even exported to Italy.

My first foray into decorative cakes was over two decades ago, crafting wedding cakes for both my brothers and later, my own. While I continued to bake for loved ones, the idea of Gill's Creative Cakes truly blossomed after a new kitchen installation and a special request from my friend Sally for her dad's 90th birthday cake. That project ignited the business you see today.

I deliberately take on a select number of cake orders, ensuring each creation is something I'm truly proud of – a cake I would be thrilled to share with my own friends and family.
